Hello, to all my newly acquired friends, YOU ROCK!! I have been friends with KOOTS family for a VERY LONG TIME, and they are such wonderful people. I want to say that the services you all provided for them, in their time of need, was just so awesome! It's very hard for me to explain and to put in words, without sounding like gibberish. I just want to thank you for everything, because they are going through a rough time, and I love them so much. KOOT, which I always called Dad, would always ask me how my blood surgars were, and ask how I was feeling. I really liked him a lot. Just a short note to say thanks for everything that you do, and what you stand for. GOD BLESS YOU! I am the only sister Susan Valencia had. I love and miss her dearly. I know of her great dedication to the New Mexico Patriots. I was so touched by the memoriam for Susan, I know she enjoyed it, she was so saddened that she could no longer attend the rally's. The New Mexico Patriots was her life. Thank-you for being there for her.

I thank you all for what you do and your service to our Country. I am from Belen, NM. I am married to a Marine Vietnam vet, and a retired National Guards Man. I work for the City of Belen. I took Photos of the two Soldiers' funeral in Belen in July of this year. I made a DVD video of both the funerals. I would like to share 2 videos with your group. Is is possible to come to one of your meetings where the riders who attend funerals would be at? I am sure you would all like to view them. The photo videos are only 4 minutes long.

We have just lost another member of our family, Arther (Koot) Lute. Koot was a father, brother to us and we will miss him. I hope the following poem will show a little of our feelings for him.
"My Four Friends" The light was dim and the beer was cold As I sat alone at the bar. It was times like these when I felt quite old And pondered my youth from afar. I took a sip and as it passed my lip, I heard him say “Hey, you over there.” What took you so long? We’ve been waiting for you. Come on and pull up a chair.” I knew the voice but couldn’t place the face Of the man who called me by name. I knew him as a friend from another place But I was drawing a blank just the same. I joined the table with the four of them And shook their hands all around. It seemed to me that I was their friend Or at least they were friends I’d just found. We ordered a pitcher and filled our glass And the stories began to fly. Like most bar talk, it’s hard to tell Who’s truthful and who’s telling a lie. Walter talked about travel and his time in France And the girls from across the sea. He remembered his buddies and the planes he’d flown And the beaches at Normandy. Peggy recalled the smell of fresh coffee And huddling in the nurse’s tent. The bitter cold of the Korean wind And the mortars that came and went. “I grew up on a farm”, said Max with a grin. “Man, someday I’d love to go back.” Since leaving I’ve seen the jungles of Nam With a rifle, a helmet and pack.” Koot was by far the newest one there And had very little to say. “I miss my family”, is all he said. “You buried me today.” Jeff “Twister” Brown 11/07/07
